Letter from the Editors
All the members we could corral
We are living in turbulent times with an abundance of choices, media, & content. Some live in a news vacuum, while others consume it ravenously (I find myself doing the latter). It is hard to pick what to see and it is hard to be heard. In our newspaper we want to deliver stories of interest or import, lighthearted columns and comics, and information to keep students updated about happenings around DSA’s high school. Particularly, we want to highlight the work of our talented artists and create a community of support.
We could not have done this without our wonderful club members. Even though it was confusing and often labor-intensive, they showed up every week to do amazing work. In the coming semester we hope to welcome more members. While we have deadlines for submissions, there is no set date to enter! We’d love if anyone interested would come join us at lunch Wednesdays in 232 at DSAN. We also want to offer thanks to Ms. Popp, Mr. Kaplan, and Ms. Hamilton for their help and consistent advocacy for the club.
While we wanted to get an issue out sooner, starting the club from scratch was exceedingly difficult. In the future, we plan to publish issues monthly in both digital and printed format. We believe in the power of paper and the printing press and hope our words will soon be in your hands.
Warmly,
Lilith Ray, Adena Montgomery, and Julia Teronde
